We are a very dog friendly house. There are two resident canines. Rafferty is a 2 year old male labrador and Ruby is a 6 month old black labrador puppy. They are both very friendly, probably overly so if you do not like dogs. Please bear this in mind when choosing to stay here. On the other hand, if you love dogs you will find lifelong friends in these two.

We are happy to consider your own dogs coming to stay with us. (If you enjoy walking, as we do, you will find miles of footpaths to explore.)  There will be a small nightly charge if you want to have the dog in the house with you. However, it is important for us to know that your dogs will not be a problem to our resident cats. We have three cats so it is necessary for your dog to be cat, as well as dog and person, friendly.

Over the summer we have had many children leaving with  tears in their eyes having made friends with Rafferty and Spike, our late terrier.  There were endless games of tennis ball throwing.  Rafferty never tires of retrieving the balls and it seems that the children never tire of throwing them for him!  I have promised to put up some pictures of the kids so here are the first few.

We feel we must warn future guests that Ruby is very much a puppy still. (She is 5 months old at time of writing in January.) She is still very naughty and will chew anything that is left around.  She is also liable to follow you upstairs.  We are doing our best to train her but she is a pickle.  She is also, of course, very sweet and immensely loving.  Again, please bear in mind that this is a family house and we do not like to shut the dogs away except during breakfast time.
